What do Volts and Mili-Amps/ Hours (mAh) mean?

If the battery you are looking for is rated for example "14.8 Volts 2000mAh". That is the electrical specifications of the battery. Volts are measuring the Voltage of the battery. Voltage can be explained as the "pressure" of the electrons trying to make it from the negative prong to the positive.

"2000mAh" translates in 2000 milli- Amperes per Hour. "Amps" are measuring the volume of electrons passing trough a wire per second.

What is Amperes "per hour"? That is the way energy in batteries are measured. One Amp per hour means that a battery can push trough one Ampere for an entire hour. For example : 2000mAh, 1000 milli-Amperes for 2 hours, 2000 milli-Amperes for 1 hours or 4000 milli-Amperes for half an hour. As you see the sum of Amps times Hours is the same.

By now you understand that the more "mAh" we got the longer the laptop will run. How many Amps does a laptop burn? Typically from 1000mA to 3000mA based on the model, processor speed, screen size, screen brightness adjustment, usage of the CD's or Floppy drives, and other factors.

If you don't find the same specifications as your old battery to the ones on our web page, don't worry! the Voltages and the mAh can vary, meaning that your new battery from our company will work well. The Voltage may vary when you are replacing a Li-Ion battery with a Ni-MH. All these variations have been included in the design of your laptop.
